Description
DANIEL CAMPBELL HOUSE

Daniel Campbell, one of the most successful of Schenectady’s early merchants, commissioned the noted architect Samuel Fuller in 1762 to design this spacious new home. Sir William Johnson was a frequent visitor here. After Daniel Campbell’s death, in 1802, his widow lived in the house until 1812. Over the years a great many unfortunate alterations were made in this fine old building. In 1962 an extensive restoration w'as undertaken, bringing back the structure so far as practicable to its original appearance.
