Description
 Nicholas Van DeBogart House

In the summer of 1862 Nicholas Van DeBogart purchased the lot on which No. 111 was constructed.  The property may have contained an earlier house that was either replaced or partially incorporated in the present structure.

The Van DeBogart House was constructed in the period between 1862 and 1872 in a High Victorian Italianate style that is characterized by an elevated first floor, ornamental window and door lintels, paired entry doors, and ornamental cornice with brackets.  The facades are painted brick with brownstone foundation, beltcourses and trim.  The stoop retains its original heavy cast-iron railings with newel posts and balusters.
