ADAM VROOMAN HOUSE
In 1726 Adam Vrooman deeded to his son, Johannes, a piece of land on the north side of Front Street "near his Majesty’s Fort,” with a "dwelling and kitchen thereon.” This was the house in which Adam, himself, was living and had certainly been built somewhat earlier, probably about 1720. The sun- dried bricks in the foundation walls and the steep, narrow, enclosed stairway are interesting architectural features.
