HENRY SWART HOUSE 

Henry Swart, merchant, is listed as liv­ing at 23 North Ferry Street in 1871. The construction date of the wooden extension at the rear, which is virtually a separate house, is not known. But the extension is shown in the Schenec­tady atlas of 1880. Probably it was built about the same time as the brick house.
