Description
JOHN PEEK HOUSE
An old deed dated 1795 refers to the property at this location as belonging to John Peek “whose house was built this season." Since that time the house has undergone some modifications, but not so numerous as have been made to many old houses. The large, hand- hewn beams, wide, thick floor planks and steep, narrow stairs are characteristic of the period when it was built.
